Besides the incumbent 36 legislators, the KMT has announced its first nomination of the legislative candidates earlier this week, by suggesting three new members to join the race, including two former DPP lawmakers. While the two will challenge the seats in Miaoli and Pingtung, the Minister of Government Information Office, Johnny Chiang, will take part in running for the position in Taichung. Central Standing committee of the KMT is going to approve the first round of nominated candidates for the legislative elections, where Johnny Chiang is expected to be the first government official to be recruited in the race. Once the KMT makes a public announcement, Chiang would resign the current post as GIO minister and commit to the election. Also a former government official-turned-legislator, Chao Li-yun, who was minister of Sports Affairs Council, doesn't believe the effect of fame in the election, saying that working hard to provide services to constituents is the key. Besides the 36 incumbent KMT legislators, the party recruits Johnny Chiang to run in the eighth constituency in Taichung City, Lee Chuan-jiao in the fifth constituency in Tainan City. Another two attention-grabbing candidates are former DPP legislators Chen Chao-min and former TSU legislator Lo Chi-min. Lo withdrew from the TSU and returned to the KMT two and a half year ago, saying that he's a Pingtung native and a Hakka descendent and he believes he's got a great chance to serve in his hometown, which consists of over 50 percent of Hakaa people. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
