CPI HIGHER THIS APRIL COMPARED TO 2010

According to the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics, the Consumer Price Index has increased by 1.34 percent this past April, compared to the same period last year. People are seeing a continuous hike in various products, from foods to goods.

While commodity prices continue to rise, the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics announced in April that the Consumer Price Index is only rising at a rate of 1.34% per year.

This is a far cry from the shopping experience of consumers who are seeing the prices of all of their daily necessities, including vegetable oil and bread, increase by 10%.

Rice alone has increased 3.3% in a single month.

Shoppers are forced to compare prices on every item and be extra careful of their purchase decisions.

Sixteen of the items, which have increased in prices, include rice, flour, and tissues, and have increased an average of 3.6%.

The Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics predicts that the national commodity price increase will be even more significant in the second half of this year.
