Award-winning pop singer Chau Wakin, or Emil Chau, gave his first solo concert in Taiwan since 2008 last weekend. And more than 10,000 fans went wild over his mesmerizing performance. Here on CTS, we bring you the highlights of the fantastic musical event. He was often seen performing on stage last month, from the Super Supau 30th Anniversary show, to the concert of Chinese soprano Song Zuying. But that was far from enough for the fans of Emil Chau. "Chau Wa-kin! Chau Wa-kin!" The legendary singer held a solo concert in the Taipei Arena last Saturday, his first in three years. "Sorry to have kept you waiting for so long" The long-awaited concert featured songs from Chau's latest album, "Diva," in which he not only interprets many pop music classics originally performed by female singers, but also explores different aspects of his vocal skills with a couple of new songs. Of course, for a veteran recording artist with dozens of hits under his belt over nearly three decades of illustrious career, it was mandatory to perform some of his chart-toppers to send the crowd wild, for example, "Kiss My Baby," a song he completed in 1990 for his then-newborn son. And his 1995 hit, "Love Follows Us." Plus the all-time crowd favorite "The Flower Heart" Chau has a reputation for being considerate toward his fans, and this time, the state-of-the-art stage design enabled him to better interact with them, including those seated in higher tiers. "The stage will later be lifted to mid-air. So I can see those seated on the 2nd and the 3rd floors very clearly." "After all, you are all my friends." And he gave everyone of them a night to remember. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
