In a press conference yesterday, President Ma Ying-jeou officially named Premier Wu Den-yih as his running mate for 2012, ending months of speculation. Ma explained that he came to this decision based on Wu's performance as Premier since 2009, praising Wu for showing courage and character in the face of challenges, while never losing compassion for the people.
