Dozens of water and retardant-dropping aircrafts have been in the sky, to battle the 12,700-acre blaze in San Diego County of California since last Thursday. Over 2,000 firefighters have been called to the scene, in an effort to put out the fire.
The biggest blaze of the year in Southern California, which has been going on for seven days, has slowed down on Monday, due to higher humidity levels. However, the extremely rugged terrain is making the task more difficult for the firefighters.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said they hope to control the flames in the next few days. Several campgrounds have been closed because of the incident, but on the bright side, no homes were destroyed or threatened by it. The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
