DRUG PLANE SEIZED IN HONDURAS

By joining forces and sharing information, the Honduran and Colombian air forces have successfully seized a drug plane, which carried 470 kilograms, or more than 1,000 pounds of cocaine.

The Colombian Air Force alerted their counterparts after detecting a suspicious aircraft leaving for Central America, with the Honduran air force seizing the drugs after it landed in Honduras.

The new intelligence-sharing deal between Colombia and Honduras, became effective in July, in an effort to "close the Caribbean airspace to drug traffickers."

Honduras is regarded as the main gateway for drug dealers to smuggle cocaine from Colombia.
