According to a survey, 61% of the women said that crying doesn't improve their mood at all, and it doesn't make them feel worse either. 30 percent of respondents say that they feel better after crying, while 9 percent feel worse afterwards. Researchers have therefore come to a conclusion that crying may not be as beneficial as people think, and most people probably benefit from social support and showings of affection, rather than the tears itself. The study also offered a peek into the act of crying, which shows that the average crying session last around eight minutes, either alone or in the presence of another person.
