Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller brought their newest comedy, "Tower Heist" to the Big Apple earlier this week, with cast members Alan Alda, Matthew Borderick, and Tea Leoni all joining the film's world premiere. The event was packed with other big names, including Tracy Morgan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Donald and Melania Trump.

"Tower Heist" revolves around a story about a building manager, Josh Kovacs, played by Ben Stiller, who plots an elaborate heist with a group of hard-working guys to steal the money back from a wealthy man's residence, after finding out that he embezzled billions from investors and even stole their pensions.

Murphy, who starred in and produced the film, talked about his original concept for a heist movie years ago.

"My core idea was about, I wanted to get a bunch of comedians together and pull off the worst heist ever. The movie was supposed to be the antithesis of 'Oceans 11.' And the script went through a bunch of different changes and maybe two years in it turned into maybe the script you're seeing now."

Even though the Occupy Wall Street protests are still ongoing, Murphy said the timing of the film's release was merely accidental.

Alda plays Arthur Shaw, a Bernie Madoff-type tycoon who is caught stealing billions from investors and swindling the pensions of his loyal staff at his luxury Central Park apartment complex.

"I actually do know some people who were defrauded by Madoff and they lost everything. It was really terrible. Yet the thing that's interesting to me about Madoff is that he was able to look people in the eye and convince them that he was on their side and helping them. And these were people who needed financial help. And all he was doing was taking everything they had. And that's what my character does in this movie, so that's really the only thing I ever borrowed from Madoff."

As for Stiller, he said he was simply intrigued by the storyline.

"I just loved the script and thought it was a great script and a great heist story. And I'd never done a heist movie."

Eddie Murphy, who is also going to host the 84th Academy Awards in 2012, says he's already feeling the pressure about hosting the ceremony, and will be doing some homework prior to the big event.

"I've got to see what movies get nominated," he said. "What's the front-runner? Who knows?"

"Tower Heist," opens in U.S. and Taiwan theaters on November 4th and in the U.K. on November 2nd.
