Hong Kong, one of the world's most populated cities, finding a place to live and even buying a house is very difficult. While the Hong Kong house market shows no signs of cooling, some people are looking for properties in the market of "haunted houses." Real estate agents say that these "haunted houses are usually 15 to 20% lower, sometimes up to even 40% lower than market value, because Chinese people don't like houses where something unfortunate have happened, such as accidents, suicide, or homicide cases. With a yield 3 to 4% higher than normal real estate trading, the market of haunted houses is still very hot. Most clients who buy haunted houses are people who don't care about the deaths in the houses, or those who can lease the houses to tenants who do not share the same set of beliefs. Even so, some heavily stigmatized houses are still very difficult to be sold. So what about these houses? Realtors say that all they can do is wait, as time heals all wounds, in hope that fewer and fewer people will remember what happened, and that the value will go up again. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
