To bring awarness to the pubilc about the need to reduce garbage, a Braziliian artist has developed a giant maze, made from 30 tons of recycled waste at the Youth Park in Sao Paulo.

Eduardo Srur, its designer, utilized more than 200 compacted drinking bottles, plastic and aluminium foil packages as well as aluminium pots, which people very often discard as waste, to construct a 15-meter-long and 2.2-meter-high maze. He installed three labyrinths in the city in total, with each of them being made of 30 tons of recycled blocks.

Visitors are being allowed to access the maze, following its pattern and looking for a way out.

"I would like to ask people to be more considerate and aware of how much garbage waste they produce every day, " Srur explained, urging people to minimize their carbon footprint. "When entering into the maze, they will get lost. The work tells us that, while people are producing waste, they should make an effort to recycle and dispose garbage in an eco-friendly way. The maze has a symbolic significance."

Meanwhile, parents have brought their children to the art zone in the hope that their children can learn about environmental protection and become more sensitive to recycling from earlier on.

Many visitors said that while many people fail to do garbage waste sorting and recycling, the maze reminds them the importance of waste classifications, and improve people's awareness about environmental issues.

Iinacia, a girl, said, "We can see that the garbage here can be recycled and used as resources. If people can reuse them, the world will be better in the future".
