The Tribeca Film Festival had a humorous start with the new romantic comedy "The Five Year Engagement" in New York earlier last week.

As one of over 80 movies being shown during the 12 day event, the feature film stars Jason Segel and Emily Blunt as an engaged couple who struggle to make it to the altar. The duo's on-screen chemistry is not just movie magic, Blunt and Segel have been friends for years and even live down the street from each other.

Emily Blunt: "We're good pals, yeah. It's really nice because we got to bring a lot of our friendship to the scene I think and a lot our in jokes and stupid behavior, we kind of decided to be really open with it all, so it was fun,"

"Five-year Engagement" kicks off the 11th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival which was co-founded by actor Robert De Niro in 2002. For Segel, just the thought of coming in contact with De Niro was overwhelming.

Segel: "I heard a rumor that Robert De Niro might be here and I think I might freak out."Blunt is not only using the opening night festivities as way to promote her films, but it also gave her an excuse to play dress-up.

"I quite like it because I like the whole spectacle of it, you know, because I'm just in jeans most of the time and so for me the press line is kind of like dress up."

In addition to "Five-Year Engagement," Blunt also has another film showing in this year's film festival, "Your Sister's Sister," which is quite different from the "Five-Year Engagement."

Emily Blunt: "It's exciting because I think they are very different. And this is a big ruckus comedy and the other one was a tiny movie all improvised, made for no money. We shot it in 12 days - there are very diverse, which at least is a good thing,"

Just hours before the premiere started news of veteran TV host and producer Dick Clark's death was sweeping Hollywood, several stars including Robert De Niro and documentary film maker Michael Moore commented on Clark's death.

De Niro: "It's life and it's sad."

Michael Moore: "I remember as a child watching his show every Saturday at noon time. And he did so much for so many striving musicians. He refused to segregate his show at a time when that was a risky position to take. And so I think we'll all miss him.""Five-Year Engagement" will be in U.S. cinemas on April 27th.
