簡單的儀式，下午四點在台北市國軍英雄館舉行，外交部長朱撫松應邀擔任見證人，有部分中國人血統的桑盧培大使在致詞當中說，他是以熱愛中國人的心情，願意在他身故之後捐出眼角膜，使某一個需要的中國人能夠欣賞四周美好的一切。
桑盧培大使在完成法律手續之後，接受華視記者訪問，談到他的心情：
“I like to live behind me in this country were many years ago, my answer is him. Not just the simple performance of ambassador, I want to live something more than that, I want to show how much I love my brothers, because I consider you a brother. And the only thing that I came into my mind that I could do, is to donate my eyes. So that somebody in this country would be able to see when I die. …, like I said in my speech, is to show heart and to show affection, and love for another human being. And in this case, I’m be honor and glad to give it, do operation …. I wish they would understand, too. ...”
