Taiwan's wild lilies, which are vastly found on the Dadu plateau, may soon be replaced by the new Taichung Economic and Science Park. Now, the environmentalists are doing what they can to stop the project from being passed by the Environmental Impact Assessment, in hope to preserve the last remaining area of the island's wild lilies. These fields are full of wild lilies as this small band is playing "Wild Lily Spring," though this hillside covered in wild lilies are facing the threat of disappearance. Taiwan's wild lilies are in full bloom in this grassland. This person who went to the US to study music was homesick leading to a return. Located in Taichung, near the intersection of Situn and Dongda Road, this 2 hectare parcel of land has more than 6,000 strains of Taiwan wild lilies as ecological expert, Wu Jin-Shu points out that this is currently Taiwan's largest area for wild lily growth and if industrial development occurs, it will soon disappear. After investigating wild lilies in Taiwan for more than a decade, Wu said that that he left his university job as within a month the EIA for the Taichung Economic and Science Park will be completed. He hopes to save this piece of wild lily-growing area in Taiwan, protecting this natural area set between a cemetery, crematorium, and two large industrial areas. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
