Ladies, pay close attention to this latest report that may come to you as a surprise.

Recent findings show that using lemon to rejuvenate your skin may result a darker skin tone, which is contradictory to our common belief that lemon is the ultimate solution for lightening the skin.

Here on CTS, we got the exclusive story for you on how to stay away from this troublesome result.

Drinking Lemon juice, and using slices of lemon as face mask have always been accredited in maintaining a lighter skin tone.

Now, researchers are saying that your skin may experience dark patches and irritations after sun exposure if the lemon residue left on your skin is not washed off completely.

Lemons contain furocoumarin derivatives which are known to induce phototoxicity, and can cause darkening of the skin, leaving blisters behind if severe.

With that in mind, make sure when you do use lemon to lighten up your skin color, do clean it off thoroughly in preventing this potential happening.

Other food products such as papaya, cilantro and basil may also result the same effect. If you must consume, look for gloomier days to do so.
