The exact size of the proton has long baffled scientists, but now it is found to be 4% smaller than previously believed, thanks to the joint effort of an elite international research team, which includes a Taiwanese professor from the National Tsinghua University.

This simulation of the big bang has led scientists to find that protons are actually smaller than previously expected.

This research team from the US, Europe, and the Taiwan National Tsing Hua University Professor Liu Yi-Wei a total of 32 top scientists took 10 years to conduct experiments with 10 times the accuracy, calculating the radius of a proton as 0.84184 femtometer which is 4% smaller than the original size.

The new experimental results not only overthrew all the relevant theoretical and experimental data leaving hundreds of years of physics as inaccurate, also leading to the emergence of contradictions and inconsistencies that may rewrite the current university physics textbooks.

Proton, neutron and electrons constitute the basic elements of life.

Although this discovery is unlikely to have an immediate effect on human life, it is a new milestone for researchers.
