Renowned documentary film Let It Be has been filmed in Tainan's Houbi Township's Ching Liao Village. The village not only demonstrates farm village and street scene from a hundred years ago, the community also provides a tour now which can be a great summer adventure.

Adults and children can't help to play in the pond during the hot summer. But this pond is actually designed to wash clothes. You can wash your clothes by sitting on the bench and using the most comfortable position possible.

This is the traditional way to wash clothes in Tainan County's Houbi Township. This amuses overseas Taiwanese kids that have returned to Taiwan for the summer. There is always something to do in a farm life including washing clothes, dying cloth, selling farm produce, and cooking. Not only children, but even adults feel refreshed to experience this traditional way of living. Besides work, entertainment is also needed.

You can skip boxes in the courtyard house or ride the train, which was used to transport goods 100 years ago and learn how commerce was conducted then. You can even visit the shopping street and see the old hotel back then.

This is the town where Let It Be was filmed. The farming culture is of importance here. Even lunch of cut rice is eaten outside.

Although this is a simple farm meal, it is being delivered by an ox cart. Ching Liao Village not only provides a farming village atmosphere, it has even turned a 300-year-old courtyard house into a bed and breakfast.

If you wish to come here for a 2 day, 1 night trip, sleeping on this traditional bed might help you dream of the traditional way of farming life.
