Group buying may be the fastest growing web trend these days, but it has its legal limits. An internet user in Taichung recently attempted to recruit nine other consumers to qualify for a huge discount on laser eye surgeries, only to be told later that it's against the law. She is now facing a potential fine of 50,000 NT dollars. This well-known eye clinic is crowded with patients early in the morning. On the Internet it has recruited groups to do laser surgery. Normally costing 40,000 NT$ though it is available for a discount of 10,000 NT$ per person for groups of 10. This promotion has caused lots of interest though recruiting such groups is illegal. In Taichung County, this woman surnamed Lin was interviewed by the Department of Health and did not know that going on-line to recruit this group was illegal, potentially facing a fine of 50,000 NT$. However, this well-known clinic, denies offering any type of group discount. Actually discounts are not limited to those facing financial hardship as a number of companies have signed contracts with clinics providing on the opportunity to save a lot of money. Currently the market price of laser eye surgery, ranges from 25,000 to 40,000 and 50,000 NT$. Competition is fierce amongst these clinics as the market price can fluctuate though soliciting groups on the internet is continues to be prohibited and strictly enforced. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
