You don't have to be a millionaire to enter the world of art collecting. Eleven years ago, an event called Affordable Art Fair was started in London, which helped to make contemporary art more accessible to the general public. Now a similar event is launched in Taiwan, featuring over 1,000 artworks mostly priced around NT10,000.

The affordable art exhibition is with over thousand pieces from 165 local artists which attracted many potential buyers.

Unlike other art pieces of famous artists, the ones at the event are priced at around NT$10,000.

The event offers the new artists a stage to show off their talents and allow more people to get to know them

Most of those artists are in their 20s and 30s, and some artists are older, who have been painting for years as they also need more buyers as they work their way up.

the event created something for the artists as well as offering a platform for the genereal public to buy affordable artworks.

the trend started 10 years ago in the U.K., which spread to other cities around the wrold from Paris to New York City, Melbourne and Singapore.

however, affordable does not mean cheap, as all artists are offering their works at the price the deem reasonable.

Painter Ho Shou Feng sells his works from NT$50,000 to NT$ 1 million.

the event allows more people to experience art buying and collecting
