With mosquitoes biting away during this summer season, someone is actually doing something about it.

An organizer has created a mosquito-catching event, granting the winner with 100, 000 NT dollars in cash.

Gathering all the dead mosquitoes, the massive ball weighing 3.16 kilograms is going for the Guinness World Record.

If you don't look closely, you probably wouldn't be able to guess what this ball is composed of.

These dust looking objects are actually dead mosquitoes, weighing as heavy as 3.16 kilograms total, containing roughly 7.19 millions of mosquitoes.

As the greatest contributor to the mosquito ball, the Huang family is the winner of the mosquito catching contest, taking home with them 100,000 NT dollars.

The family alone captured three packages of these "blood-sucking" insects, which weighs at 1.5 kilograms and has an estimation of about 4.05 millions of mosquitoes in it.

The competition brings us to the realization of the shocking amount of mosquitoes we have in Taiwan,

but on the bright side, it has given Taiwan's mosquitoes a chance to be in the Guinness World Record, making them a part of the first biggest mosquito ball ever made.

And if you're feeling itching by now, make a note that experts are saying to avoid applying scented lotion before going to bed to reduce the mosquito attacks.
