To control the overheated property market, the Executive Yuan is planning to build affordable housing along the airport MRT line. While the latest proposal reveals that the residential area will be reduced with the expansion of the commercial district, the government indicates that the revision will provide a more convenient lifestyle for the public. This large open tract of land around the A7 Airport MRT station was the original location of the Executive Yuan's plan to build affordable housing which was to begin with the awarding of contracts in August. However, a delay in the project has been encountered as the original plan put this housing complex near the MRT station with an industrial area on the periphery. Now the MRT station will be bounded by the industrial area, pushing the residential area further away as well as leading to a reduction overall. The Executive Yuan says that changes were necessary due to lifestyles. In a weekly report, the Executive Yuan said the major reason for the change was because a financial consortium paid a visit to Premier Wu Den-yih questioning the A7 station area development plan according to their recommendations. The Executive Yuan stressed that reversing the commercial and residential locations was not tailored to specific companies, with future tenders being transparent and open, and won't be restricted to just one company being able to become eligible. Still, this major change in a 24.5 billion NT$ development project within the last month has led to a great amount of speculation from outside observers. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
