In celebration of ROCs centennial next year, the Council for Cultural Affiars plans to invite young foreigners from 100 nations to join a two-week homestay program for a taste of life in Taiwan. Many celebrities are already lining up for a chance to serve as their hosts.

Tourists travel to the United States to see Mickey Mouse, to Japan to see Hello Kitty, and to Taiwan to see the Third Prince, eat pineapple cakes, and drink bubble milk tea.

As part of the Republic of China's centennial celebrations next year, the Council of Cultural Affairs will be launching a homestay program and inviting youths from 100 nations to live in Taiwan. Many foreigners that currently reside in Taiwan say that the island has become a second home to them, and that they hope more people can experience Taiwan's unique hospitality.

The CCA has asked civic groups for assistance in selecting host families, and many well-known persons have already volunteered. According to television host Yu Mei-ren, she would like to take foreigners on a field trip to Taiwan's cram schools and show them how much pressure local children are under to learn English.

Upon the conclusion of the homestays, the youths will be able to share their experiences in Taiwan with the world.
