This year, more than 27,000 sport lovers have participated in the Sun Moon Lake swimming event, setting a new record for this annual activity. Despite of this happening day, a man didn't manage to enjoy it. He is reported to be doing okay, after being sent to the hospital.

At 5 o'clock at dawn, the first group of swimmers plunged into the water.

The cold, refreshing Sun Moon Lake, together with the beautiful clear sky was bliss for all the swimmers who brought their kickboards to go swimming.

Not long after, Sun Moon Lake was jam packed with swimmers, the oldest of which was a 90-year-old man, who was just as fit as all the others.

Fathers and mothers, grandmas and grandpas, and even foreigners such as three folks from Italy together broke the record of visitors this year at 27,000 people.

Sun Moon Lake was packed with people indulging in the lively atmosphere with the beautiful landscape of mountains and water.

Some visitors have been to Sun Moon Lake before and this time brought all sorts of swimming paraphernalia, such as an inflatable nude babe, octopus, and whale.

However, swimming the 3000 meter lake is no picnic either as a middle-aged man had to be sent to the emergency room when he lost strength and started revealing to the others what he had for breakfast.
