The recent seizure of a Miaoli County property has caught attention nationwide, raising public concerns about the rights of farmers.

Now, a theater is revisiting the issue through a showcase that portrays the conflicts that villagers had to deal with. Here on CTS, let's take a look at their untold stories.

A drought triggers the virus to cause memory loss in countryside.

Self-proclaimed anti-drought "Diamond Rice", which is genetically modified, is now introduced to the village.

Thought as the solution, the rice is to unleash the greed within.

This is the storyline of the tent-theater production by the Assignment Theatre Group, called "Where is Jiang Hu?"

Based on the novel of Taiwanese writer Wu Ying-ning, the production sets its background in a farming village and adopts the story into a surreal world.

Actors exaggerate their performance to present how Taiwan pursues its economic achievements at the expense of agricultural industry, spanning over the 50's and the 60's.

The tent-theater performance is presented in a frugal way, where the props and the sound effects were made by performers themselves.

Although the facilities are simple and the spaces small, it gives audience an even more personal connection.

Most young people are not able to understand the transformation of farming villages and the theater hopes that through their performances, the public can think again the relations between food, lands and emotional bonds.
