For a decent Chinese entree, many depend on this red labeled cooking rice wine.

Now, the new batch is out for reach, with a reduced cost of 27 NT dollars each. And you're actually paying only 25 NT dollars because you can get 2 NT dollars back for recycling the bottle.

Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation says that the public can trade in the old for the new until November 15th.

With one red-label rice wine, which was sold at NT$ 50 per bottle, consumers now can get two new bottles, which is quite a good trade.

For grocery owners, it means a hassle as they have to make several trips to exchange the products.

Actually, there's not much difference on the packaging. Except there's a small chef pattern on the new trademark and the word "Cooking" is specified.

The change of packaging is to help the public to differentiate and the World Health Organization can easily realize the product is for cooking.

After the price reduction, each bottle is priced at only NT$ 25, excluding a NT$ 2 refundable bottle fee. In short, the retail price is NT$27. This change expects an increase of the sales volume to over 200 million bottles.

However, consumers can exchange new ones with the receipt at where they purchased the rice wine or without the receipt to the direct retailers until November 15th.
