The recent personnel shuffle of Taipei City government received mixed responses from both parties. While Hau's KMT comrade Eric Chu praised him for showing determination in dealing with the Flora Expo crisis, DPP Chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen said the mayor's team still owe the public a series of explanations on many controversial issues.

The KMT's Xinbei City mayoral candidate, Eric Chu visited the Shulin Industrial area to stump for votes as continued to push the "three circle, three lines" plan. Regarding Hau's reshuffle of leaders, and the decision to accept Lee Yong-Ping, the deputy mayor's resignation along with 2 others, Chu said that Hao demonstrated courage, and the action would gain him more support from voters.

Hau recently accepted the resignation of 3 key staff, as some believe that the KMT asked him to take such action to stop the bleeding from the Flora Expo.

Chu said the action had nothing to do with stopping the bleeding but simply accepting responsibility.DPP candidate for Xinbei City Mayor, Tsai Ing-wen, said the Flora Expo has attracted a lot of controversy, and the city needs to clarify some of these concerns.

There is also a rumor that the People First Party may choose a candidate to run in this election.

Chu said he would continue to communicate with those who have different views and Tsai responded that this was an issue for the KMT to manage and would have no impact on her campaign.
