According to a recent survey, children no longer have to avoid junk food to fight obesity. With the right combination of food, it's possible for them to enjoy their favorite snacks and remain healthy and fit.

The savory rich taste of sundaes and crispy fried chicken make it hard for most people to resist. But are you aware of the caloric value of these junk foods?

According to a study by the Taipei Medical University on the food intake of youths, 37% of kids who are deemed obese on the BMI scale are a result of parents who are too busy to eat with them and do not follow up on their kids' health.

The study has also found that foods originally identified to be the culprit of obesity, such as fried chicken, potato chips, instant noodles, ice cream, barbecue, are in fact, not the primary factors of the symptom.

As long as kids can combine these foods with healthy foods, such as salad to stave off their hunger, they can become healthier.

Medical experts also advice parents to exercise more often with their kids and encourage their kids to eat two servings of fruit and three servings of vegetables every day to avoid obesity and live a healthy lifestyle.
