We are looking to score big in the upcoming Guangzhou Asian Games, which will be kicking off on November 12th. The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee has announced that 560 representatives will be heading to China, including 397 sports players who will be fighting to take home that top prize. This year's Asian Games features 42 events, and Chinese Taipei will be sending a record 397 athletes to compete in 32 events in Guangzhou in November. The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee has declined to make any medal predictions, but says Taiwan stands an excellent chance of surpassing its Doha Asian Games medal total of nine gold, ten silver, and 27 bronze medals. There are some noticeable omissions from the list of athletes, including Taiwan's top-ranked women's badminton player, Tai Tzu-ying. Tai failed to qualify for the Games during trials, which were held in July. Meanwhile, Cheng Shao-chieh, who has been playing extremely well as of late, also failed to place in the top two, and will only be competing in group competitions. The CTOC says that it will be reviewing its selection process after the Asian Games conclude. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
