A 64-year-old individual in Pingtung County is undertaking a massive money washing task. It turns out that Typhoon Fanapi flooded the coins he had collected since he was 27. The man is now struggling to clean up millions of coins in the hope that one day he can establish a coin museum.

Mr. Zheng is sitting on the floor washing the banknotes in the plastic basins.

Walking into the room, you'll see numerous bills covering up the bed, and the floor.

They all belong to Mr. Zheng, who is still placing notes on the floor in an effort to dry them up.

Mr. Zheng has been collecting coins and bills over 40 years.

He keeps a comprehensive record of his precious collections, which includes the silver coins manufactured in 1949, the little orchid coin of 1973, and 4 versions of five-penny coins that are no long in circulation now.

Mr. Zheng said that his dream is to establish a coin museum to keep the collection well preserved.

But first, he needs to clean up the coins and notes flooded in the recent typhoon and it seems to be a very time-consuming work.

Still, he keeps holding on to his dream that he will find sponsorship to establish the coin museum and to share with more people the history and beauty of coins and bills.
