The long-awaited cinematic prequel to last year's hit TV series "Black & White" will finally start shooting in Kaohsiung next month, and this time, director Tsai Yueh-hsun seeks to take his vision even further and revolutionize the action genre.
Fans of the hit TV series Black and White have been waiting for the movie version to come out.
They are happy to find out that the filming of it starts on the 10th of November.
Besides original cast including Mark Chao and Chen Yi Han, Terry Kwan and Golden Horse winner Huang Po, actor and director Kevin Wu Kai Wen are all in the movies, in addition, fighting scene are directed by someone, who French film director Luc Besson work with exclusively, in the shooting.
Last years TV hit series Black and White was well received for it used different ways of shooting and directing; it is going to be shown in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The series pushed its director Tsai Yue Hsiun to another level of his career while the backdrop of the series of Kaohsiung city gained a NT$500 million worth of tourism income.
On the eve of the shooting of the film version of the TV series, Kaohsiung city mayor Chen Ju said that all sets build for the movie are to be preserved as future Kaohsiung tourism attractions.
The budget of the film is over NT$350 million. A bar set next to the harbor is going to be renovated from an old harbor warehouse.
IN the future, there is going to be an underwater studio in Kaohsiung and a studio for airplanes.
Tsai believes that if the studios can be well managed, Kaohsiung can very well become an entertainment and professional city of movies.
