The new addition to the MRT system, the Luzhou line, will start operating on November 23rd this year. From that day on, people with an EasyCard will be able to test out the new ride, free of charge, until December 2nd. Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin has announced that the Taipei Rapid Transit System's new Luzhou line will begin operating on November 3rd. The line underwent two days of testing on October 16th and 17th, after which a series of thirty changes and improvements were undertaken. As the line was originally scheduled to go into operation at the end of the year, some are wondering whether the Taipei City Government moved up the date and announced a free one-month trial ride period due to the municipal elections. Per the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation's announcement, anyone with an Easy Card will be able to ride the 11-station line for free between November 3rd and December 2nd. The line extends Taipei's MRT network by 12.5 km to 105.4 km, and will cut the commute time between Taipei County's Luzhou Station and Taipei City's Minchuan West Road Station down to 12 minutes. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
