Chen was palpably dejected after learning the verdict, and he refused to step out of his cell on Friday morning for his daily workout. Chen is expected to be transferred to the Taipei prison and start serving his sentence by the end of this month.

After confirmation of his sentences, Chen Shui Bian stayed inside his room at the Taipei detention center and didnt go outside for his routine exercise.

It is expected that by the end of this month, Chen will be transferred to Taipei Prison and his treatment will be different too.

Right now at the detention center, Chen enjoys a 3 pings room by himself with a big window and five buckets amount of water to use, while he can stack his personal items on shelves.

Once inside the prison cell, even with his special status, he might have to share a cell with one other person, and of course, Chen would have to go through a body inspection strip search before entering the prison.

Chen will have to shave his hair off in the jail and have no access to TV or radio to keep up with whats going on in the outside world.

for an 11 year sentence, even if Chen can qualify for bail, he would be 70 year old by the time he can get out.
