To make the upcoming 100th anniversary of Taiwan more meaningful, President Ma Ying-jeou has invited several Taiwanese stars to attend the national event. The invited guests, include the two individuals who made us proud around the world, philanthropist Chen Shu-chu and the award-winning bakery master Wu Bao-chun.

Auntie Chen Shu-ju who was recently invited by President Ma to sing the national anthem at the New Year's Day celebration timidly beams, noting her initial incredulity at the invite.

Asked whether she needs to practice the song at home before the big performance, Auntie Chen says the national anthem is easy - she already knows the lyrics.

The Taiwanese government is inviting Chen to sing the national anthem at the 100th anniversary celebration of Taiwan with the hopes that her generosity and kindness will influence more people.

Another Taiwan's glory is world master breadmaker, Wu Bao-chun, who has been invited by the Ministry of Justice to visit local prisons and teach inmates how to make bread.

Wu agreed without hesitation and said he will prepare his secret techniques for the class.

Wu is never stingy about sharing his admired breadmaking techniques with others.

His generosity is a trait worth emulating.

Hopefully the two national treasures of Taiwan will bring a positive influence to the Taiwanese public at the 100th anniversary of Taiwan.
