As for the former first lady Wu Shu-jen's jail sentence, Taiwan High Prosecutors Office has tentatively decided to send her to the Peiteh Hospital, an affiliation with the Taichung Prison, which is responsible for taking in female prisoners needing medical care. However, imprisonment for Wu is still being assessed and the decision is expected to be finalized in a week. Former first lady Wu Shu-jen is to begin her prison sentence. According to the High Prosecutor's Office, she would begin her sentence in the Peiteh hospital, which is affiliated to the Taichung Prison. The prison administration says that it would spend a week to evaluate Wu's physical conditions. Wu's daughter Chen Shin-yu worries how her ailing mother could be accommodated in the prison. There have been quite a few prisoners living in the hospital and taking care of Wu should not be a big problem. The prison can take in 20 prisoners in its two big and two small wards. The facility has enough medical equipments and has trained 15 female prisoners to take care of critically ill inmates around the clock. Besides, the hospital is a regional institution and doctors in the China Medical University Hospital will make regular visits. The prison administration stresses that it has enough manpower and infrastructure to accommodate Wu Shu-jen. If the evaluation says that Wu is able to live in such facility, her jail sentence would begin before the end of this year or early next year. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
