To bring good fortune to the public in the new year, Taiwan Railways' Yung Kang station has offered 50,000 commemorative "Yung-Bao-An-Kang" train ticket sets, which means "always safe and healthy" in Mandarin. The limited sets have also attracted a long line of railway fans waiting get the first collection of 2011. The station staffs were busy early in the morning organizing the lines of people waiting to buy the commemorative Tai Railway tickets celebrating 100th year of the ROC. Early Friday morning, before the sales starts at 8am, people started to lineup outside the Tainan Yung Kang station Thursday afternoon around 5pm. Even senior citizens are braving the cold to line up for the limited edition ticket sets. The Yung Kang area was 12 degrees Celsius during the nighttime, many people wrapped themselves up with thick coats and scarves, some young people sat down to kill time by playing poker. The two tickets in the red envelope contain a ticket stamped with the date December 31st, 2010 and the other one stamped with the date of January 1st of 2011. The ticket for January is especially different for the old machine was only designed to stamp two digit numbers for the year, thus the ticket had two 00s on it, symbolizing the 100th year of the ROC. In order to welcome in the New Year, the station needed to update the machine to increase another digit for the stamp.
