In a sign of economic recovery, the domestic job market posts strong gains after the Chinese New Year, with over 250,000 employment opportunities available on the official website of the Council of Labor Affairs, and it more than doubled the number of registered job seekers.

There are currently 256,000 job openings posted on the CLA job placement website, which is 60,000 more jobs compared to the same period last year.

Typically, the period after Chinese New Year is the peak season for people to switch jobs while businesses are looking to hire more people.

The top five industries with the most jobs are traditional manufacturing industry, retail, food and beverage, electronic communications and service sector.

The CLA is also arranging career fair to help more people find jobs.

In addition, the CLA also discovered that, those 15 to 29 of age tend to have higher rate of being unemployed, therefore, the CLA job training bureau is focusing on job skill training for that group of people.
