A tragic accident in Taichung last April took the lives of a little girl and her brother, and severely injured their mother.

In order to lessen their burden on the heavy expenses resulted from the collision, the school and the students have raised more than 2 million NT dollars for the struggling family.

A year has passed, and the father has decided to give back, but this time, he is contributing more than the initial amount.

He is planning to donate 4 million NT dollars to other underprivileged individuals, as a way to give thanks to those who lend a helping hand when they were facing difficulties.

Mr. Chen was teary when giving the speech in front of the students and faculty members of the school. He thanked everyone for helping his family.

Last April, when his wife picked up his daughter and son from the school, they got in a car accident.

The children were dead and his wife was amputated.

This car accident left the family in a worse financial situation. The school launched a fund-raising campaign and donated 2.04 million NTD to the Chen family.

Now since Mrs. Chen is getting a lot better, Mr. Chen decides to donate a sum of 4 million NTD back to the school, returning the 2.04 million NTD and chipping in part of the compensation they received.

Mr. Chen is an interior worker and doesn't have a stable income.

However, having benefitted from the help through the tragedy, his family decided to pay it forward and help more students in need of financial assistance.
