Here in Taiwan, we are given a chance to witness the creation by one of the greatest figure artists of the 20th century, right in front of our eyes. 118 art pieces by the late Russian French painter, Marc Chagall, will be on display at National Palace Museum. It was painted in 1923 and featured Bella, who was Chagall's fiancee.

On his 28th birthday, Bella brought him flowers and colored cloth.

18 years ago, Chagall's paintings also crossed the ocean for an exhibit in Taiwan.

This time, the works are from Japan, France, Switzerland and other places, with a total of 118 works of Chagall being borrowed and put on display at the National Palace Museum.

In addition to "The Birthday," other works include I and the Village" and "Newlyweds at the Eiffel Tower.

The museum staff says that 25 years ago, Chagall died at the age of 98, though his spirit remains and his painting continues to display a sweet and wonderful life.
