A group of culture and history workers have been organizing exhibitions and local tours for the public to understand the history of Chung-he District of New Taipei City. Unfortunately, with the recent municipality upgrade, the operation funding from the former city hall has been cancelled and they may be forced to stop the preservation work. Many people take a stroll in the No. 4 park in Chunghe District of New Taipei City. Close to Taipei City, the district has a population of over 400,000 people. A lot of them are working in Taipei City. While 70% of the people are from out of town, some local culture and history workers hope the residents can get to know more about the local history. Therefore, they've documented the district's past history through extensive field researches and have won many honors from the government. Culture and history workers gradually put together the puzzle of Chunghe's past through the ancient maps and photos. They've mapped out a one-day tour for cultural heritages to market local culture. However, since Chunghe was upgraded to a district, the budget from the city hall is now cancelled. It's estimated that it would cost 5 million NTD to compile history and organize cultural events each year. Local culture and history workers fear that their efforts would be hindered due to the lack of budget and plan to start a fundraising drive. They also hope the newly upgraded New Taipei City would pay attention to the issue and give them the funds they need to promote the local culture. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
