Dragon is considered as a divine creature in Chinese culture, and with next year being the year of dragon, gynecologists have seen many prospective parents who want to conceive the so-called "dragon" babies. In fact, according to doctors, the birth rate is about 10 percent higher during the year of dragon, because many believe that those who are born in that particular year are destined to be more successful.

Taiwanese tradition shows that many people want to give birth during the Year of the Dragon.

They hope that sons can become dragons and daughters will be like the phoenix.

However dragon mothers and fathers should not be in too much of a rush as the best time to become pregnant is in May.

One should count the days starting with ovulation.

For example, if the ovulation date is August 30, one could subtract 3 months and 7 days to give one the expected delivery date of May 23.

Therefore, if one is able to conceive during the end of March to next May 15th, then one would have a good chance of giving birth to a dragon baby.

Gynecologists say that more people than usual are asking about this though these children may face more competition in the future such as entering college or looking for work.

Still, parents may still want to take this opportunity otherwise they may have to wait another 12 years for the chance again.
