National Taiwan University may be famous for being the alma mater of many scholars, CEOs and scientists, but it's also capable of producing brilliant craftsmen. Though in this case, one should say "craftswoman" instead. A young lady with a bachelor's degree in political science from NTU has chosen a different path from her peers and pursued a career in carpentry. And she now owns a business with a monthly revenue of 100,000 NT dollars.

These pairs of glasses are made from real wood.

But if you want to come here, to buy a pair of glasses, you need a little imagination and creativity.

Luo Bing-yao makes these wood glasses by hand. She has become addicted to woodworking though she was also a graduate from the elite National Taiwan University.

Her hands feel like they are touching the soul of the wood, and she often forgets to eat for a full day when she is working and even forgetting to sleep.

This is her enthusiasm fort he work.

She says that wood glasses are better though a simple mistake can make them unusable.

She is quite dedicated to the job and pays careful attention, creating some unique engineering methods. But to make glasses, she needs wood that is pure and she studied politics and optometry is something that she asks others to do.

Still, each pair of glasses sell for between 30,000 to 100,000.

Many of these glasses are now being collected by people and they are also helping her create an entrepreneurial way of life.
