Premier Wu Den-yih paid an inspection visit to Taiwan's second nuclear power plant last weekend in New Taipei City, where he suggested Taipower to explain relevant safety measures in layman's terms for the under Taipower's second nuclear power plant is conducting a drill of its response capability when a tsunami attacks. Besides inspecting the disaster-prevention measures of the nuclear power plant, the premier also instructed officials of Taipower to find an overseas nuclear waste disposal site, adding that Mainland China would be one of the options. If an accident similar to that of Japan's Fukushima power plant happens in Taiwan, Taipower says they will make people's lives the top priority and will immediately give up the nuclear power plant. There are more than 30 radiation detection stations across Taiwan and the number is increasing.
