Acclaimed Taiwanese composer Tyzen Hsiao, who has been living in the U.S. for decades, recently came back to the island at the invitation of his alma mater, National Taiwan Normal University, to join a special exhibition on the master's own works. Hsiao hopes that more young talents can take the baton from his generation and make greater contribution to Taiwanese music. Gone from Taiwan for quite some time, composer Tyzen Hsiao took the opportunity to get together with old friends. He talked about his favorite subject though his voice was a bit weak due to heart disease. For the past 7 to 8 years, he regrets that he has not been able to make music because of his health. Hsiao is quite humble though he is proficient in Eastern and Western music. He is known for mixing these influences as well as Taiwan folk songs. In 1994, he was ill during the completion of the "1947 Overture," which is one of the most important works in Taiwan's history. This picture is full of musical notes and this CD and booklet are all of his achievements. Despite his poor health, he came back to Taiwan to meet all the fans and friends of his music. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
