MARCH FOR A NUCLEAR-FREE FUTURE

A group of Taiwanese film directors and artists are set to launch an anti-nuclear march tomorrow, in the wake of the nuclear crisis in Japan. Through this peaceful demonstration, they are asking the government to re-evaluate its energy policy, and to provide a nuclear-free homeland for the future generation.

Usually using images and music to convey their thoughts to the audience, all of these artistic people are having the rare chance of gathering in one building.

They have all been influenced by the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

It has shocked Taiwan and the virtual inability to handle this nuclear disaster.

This means that everyone is coming out against nuclear power.

In addition to the young directors and artists like Chen Ming-chang, independent bands, and many within the music industry have responded enthusiastically.

On April 30th, they are planning a public rally using a truck with sound equipment and will take to the streets in a protest.

They are calling for people to join them.

Artists are also designing special umbrellas with skulls and crossbones to protest nuclear waste.

The are calling upon the government to attach more importance to nuclear power, and to think about our children's future with the looming threat of nuclear disaster.
