During his visit to the Chi Nan University in Nantou over the weekend, President Ma Ying-jeou was given a surprise quiz by the students on his knowledge of local culture. And the president didn't disappoint at all, giving correct answers on all five questions. By taking one bite of the tea-flavored eggs, President Ma was asked to answer which one is from the famous seller Mrs. Granny. Another questions include that guessing which cup of black tea is from Yuchi and the dessert served is of which aboriginal tribe. President Ma answered all the questions correctly and won the applause from students. It seemed that President Ma was giving a speech on his platform when meeting with students in Chinan University, talking about the interaction with Mainland China during his four-year term and Taiwan's active participation in the international community. While the current law stipulates that Chinese students are banned from receiving academic scholarships and from taking up part-time work during their study in Taiwan and from entering the local job market after graduation, President Ma asked local students for their opinion. In the interaction with students, the president asked students to comment on whether the cross-strait exchange speed is too fast or too slow. 233 of them believe it's perfect, 79 students think it's too slow and 21 of them say it's too fast. During the seminar, several students from South East Asian countries say they hope to see the country to open wider to China. President Ma also hopes that Taiwanese students manage to find their edges in creativity and innovation through academic exchanges with Mainland China. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
