"The Lighthouse," a 7-minute animated short film by Taiwanese student Chi Po-chou, was selected as a semifinalist for the Animated Film category of the Student Academy Awards. With simple lines and music, the story of a father and son is able to touch the hearts of many people. When the sun starts to set, the father smiled and opened his arm to welcome his child home. This animated film "The Lighthouse" was created by a Taiwanese artist, Chi Po-chou, who is also a graduate student in UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television. Chi used simple lines, subtle colors and beautiful music to tell the story about family and parents' love. Parents used to hold their children's hands, to accompany them when they take their first steps, to watch the kids grow, learn new things, and eventually leave home. The story is about parents support their children to make their dreams come true. No matter what happened, parents will always be there waiting for their children, just like the lighthouse forever lighting for the boats. 31-year-old Chi said, "The Lighthouse" is a film related to his own experience, who understood the love of his parents after he became a father. The touching story received praise from the judges of the Student Academy Awards and was selected as one of the Spotlight Films of 2011. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
