Taiwanese pitcher Wang Chien-ming's return to the major league is now one step closer to reality. In his latest rehabilitation start yesterday, the former Yankees ace only gave up one hit over four scoreless innings, striking out two and inducing five ground-outs, helping the Potomac Nationals to rout the opposing team 14 to 1.

It was just Wang's second professional start since 2009, and a great improvement over the previous one, during which he allowed two runs in three innings. The velocity of Wang's pitches has increased perceptibly in the latest outing, reaching 91 miles-per-hour in the fourth inning.

Wang admitted after the game that he felt pretty good, and the catcher who worked with him this time also praised his stellar performance.
