It seems that Chinese authorities are trying hard to restore its food safety reputation, after a series of food-related scandals, including contaminated milk, glow-in-the dark meat, and dye-injected buns.

Officials have arrested 2-thousand peopl,e and have shut down nearly 5-thousand businesses, to crackdown illegal food additives, after investigating nearly six million food-related companies.

Many underground sites, for the illegal manufacture of harmful food products, have also been destroyed.

A Food Safety Commission statement also said, that government agencies across the country, would continue the investigation, and those who break the law, would face severe punishment.
