Relief efforts are plagued by chaos in the Turkish city of Van, which was struck by the most powerful earthquake in more than a decade on Sunday, measured at 7.2-magnitude.

Quake victims are seen fighting for supplies to keep themselves warm under the cold weather, with police forced to step in to restore order and to keep the situation under control.

Teams of rescuers are working day and night, in search for survivors around the clock throughout the poor region of the country. The death toll stands at 459 as of Tuesday, with more than 1,300 people wounded. Even with the Turkish Red Crescent giving out 13,000 tents, and plans to provide temporary shelter for about 40,000 victims, some are saying that it's still not enough to help all the people.
