Playing ocarina has become a new medical method for patients who suffer from chronic respiratory failure. Thanks to a new discovery made by a Kaohsiung doctor who spent four years experimenting. In this footage, we see Dr. Yang's patient playing the ocarina as an instrument measures the oxygen levels in his blood. In the next six minutes, the patient's blood oxygen saturation increases from 70% to almost 90%, and his respiratory functions improve.Over the past four years, Dr. Yang has asked 83 chronic respiratory failure patients to start playing the ocarina. As CRF often leads to physiological and metabolic abnormalities, playing the ocarina can be viewed as a form of physical therapy for the lung cavity. Although any type of woodwind or brass instrument would work, Yang prefers working with ocarinas because they are light, convenient, and available in an array of bright colors. The doctor is now preparing to publish his findings in the hopes of helping CRF patients around the world not only improve their health, but also develop a new hobby. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
