Verbal jousting between candidates seems to heat up as the election day keeps approaching. Incumbent Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin praised his challenger Su Tseng-chang on Monday as the strongest candidate ever that DPP has to offer, though he also admitted that Su's performance as Taipei county governor was far from perfect. In response, Su dismissed Hau's remarks on his strengths, stating that the only thing "strong" in the capital is the voters desire for a change. There are just 100 days left until the Taipei International Flora Exhibit as Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-Bin flew to Japan to promote the event. While discussing the end of year Taipei Mayoral Election, Hau said that his opponent Su Tseng-Chang was the most powerful DPP candidate yet even more powerful than Chen Shui-Bian. However, Hau also launched into some criticism saying that during his time as EPA Chief, then Taipei County Magistrate Su Tseng-Chang, did not listen to his proposal to construct sewage treatment systems. Responding to Hau's remark that he was the strongest opponent in the history of the DPP, Su said that this was not personally important to him as the main issue would be the public's strong willingness for change. Su said he felt this from the people, and hoped that Taipei could go beyond. As for the Hau's criticism over sewage construction, Su said that Hau had praised him in the past for his work to build overflow flood spillways. With the election drawing near, aside from party differences, the race between Hau and Su promises to become more heated and intense. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
